Moke Lake offers everything that makes this part of Aotearoa so special, peaceful waters, incredible mountain scenery, golden morning light and a real sense of tranquillity away from the crowds.

It's one of my absolute favourite places for a couples photoshoot, engagement session or simply capturing a special chapter of your New Zealand adventure.

For N & I's sunrise session...


We arrived just as the first light began to spill over the surrounding mountains. The lake was perfectly still, reflecting the landscape like glass, while the soft morning colours created the dreamiest backdrop imaginable.

At Moke Lake is the atmosphere! There's something incredibly peaceful about having the entire landscape almost to yourselves, with nothing but birdsong and mountain views stretching in every direction. The gentle light is also incredibly flattering for photography, creating natural, timeless images full of warmth and emotion.
